Traffic Health Notifications & Billing

Configure notifications to stay ahead of domain issues and understand Traffic Health subscription options to maximize your domain monitoring investment.

Introduction

Domain issues can severely impact your business if they go undetected. The difference between discovering a problem in minutes versus days can mean thousands in lost revenue. Traffic Health's notification system ensures you're immediately alerted to critical domain health problems, while flexible billing options let you choose the right level of protection for your needs.

Unlike traditional monitoring systems that provide basic alerts without context, Traffic Health integrates domain health notifications directly with your Everflow dashboard and connects to your team's communication tools. This integration creates a streamlined alerting experience—you'll not only know when an issue occurs but also receive actionable information about its impact on your business and the specific steps needed to resolve it.

Heads Up! While Traffic Health provides comprehensive alerting capabilities, proper configuration is essential to ensure the right team members receive timely notifications. The platform has multiple notification channels, but you'll need to set these up according to your specific requirements.

Understanding Notification Types

Traffic Health has two distinct notification systems designed to keep you informed about domain health issues:

My Notification Preferences

Available to all users, these personal notification settings allow individual team members to choose what alerts to receive regarding  domain incidents:

Alert Categories:

  • Incidents: Notifications when domain issues are detected
  • Resolutions: Alerts when problems are successfully resolved
  • Tasks: Updates when domain-related tasks require action

Notification Channels:

  • In-App: Notifications within the Everflow platform
  • Email: Alerts sent directly to your email address

Your personal notification preferences can be configured from the My Account -> My Notifications Preferences section, allowing you to receive only the alerts that are relevant to your role.

Setting Up My Notification Preferences

Your personal notification settings determine which domain events you'll be alerted about and how you'll receive those alerts. Here's how to configure them:

Navigate to the My Notification Preferences section in your user profile Expand the Traffic Health section to view domain-specific notification options (scroll to the bottom to find it) For each notification type (Incidents, Resolutions, Tasks), select your preferred channels: Toggle In-App notifications ON/OFF Toggle Email notifications ON/OFF Configure notification filtering to receive alerts for All Incidents or Only for Incidents Causing Downtime
Pro Tip! If you're responsible for immediate response to domain issues, enable both In-App and Email notifications for Incidents to ensure you never miss critical alerts, even when you're away from the Everflow dashboard.

Advanced Alerts (Core and Premium)

For users on Core or Premium plans, Advanced Alerts provide team-level alerting through external channels:

Additional Notification Channels:

  • Slack Integration: Send alerts to specific Slack channels
  • Email Distribution Lists: Notify multiple team members or departments

Configuration Options:

  • Recipient Management: Add or remove notification recipients
  • Alert Filtering: Choose which incident types trigger external notifications (Incidents, Resolutions, and/or Tasks)

The Advanced Alerts system is particularly valuable for teams that need to ensure domain issues are escalated properly, with different stakeholders receiving alerts based on incident severity and type.

Configuring Advanced Alerts (Core and Premium)

For teams using the Core or Premium plans, Advanced Alerts allow you to extend alerting beyond individual users to your broader organization:

Email Notifications Setup

Navigate to Traffic Health -> Manage Advanced Alerts (at the top right) Click the Email Notifications section and select "Edit" Configure the notification settings: Set status (Active/Inactive) Select which events trigger notifications (Incidents, Resolutions, Tasks) Add recipients by entering their Email Addresses, Full Name, etc. Save your changes
Notifications are sent as soon as the Incident has been detected. Same goes for Resolutions and Tasks.

Slack Integration Configuration

In the Advanced Alerts section, select Slack Notifications Click "Edit" to modify the configuration Enter your Slack webhook URL (created in your Slack workspace) Choose which events should trigger Slack notifications Save your configuration
Good to Know Find your Slack Webhook URL: Create a Slack app, enable incoming webhooks, and generate your webhook URL to connect Everflow notifications with your Slack workspace. Click here to learn more. The real power of Advanced Alerts is in their ability to route different types of alerts to different teams.
For example, you might send all incident notifications to your technical team's Slack channel, while routing resolution confirmations to your account managers.

Notification Contents and Response Actions

When a domain issue is detected, Traffic Health notifications provide comprehensive information to help you quickly understand and respond to the problem:

Incident Notifications Include:

  • The affected domain name
  • Incident type (Unreachable, Connection Issue, Certificate Issue)
  • Detection timestamp
  • Severity level
  • Required action indicator
  • Direct link to view complete incident details

Resolution Notifications Include:

  • The domain that was restored
  • Issue that was resolved
  • Resolution timestamp
  • Duration of the incident
  • Any remaining tasks or follow-up actions

Each notification is designed to provide not just an alert, but actionable information that helps you determine the appropriate response.

For critical issues requiring immediate action, you'll see a clear "Action Required" indicator.

Using Notifications with the Communication Hub (Core & Premium)

When domain issues affect your Partners, quick communication is essential. Traffic Health integrates with Everflow's Communication Hub to streamline this process:

From the Usage Tab -> Assignments or Mismatches -> Click three vertical dots to the right -> Send Tracking Links A pre-populated message will be created in Communication Hub The message automatically includes: Basic information about the domain issue Updated tracking links Partners should use Specific Offers affected by the domain problem Review and customize the message if needed Select / edit pre-populated the affected Partners who should receive the notification Send immediately or schedule for later delivery

This integration significantly reduces the time needed to notify Partners about domain changes, ensuring they can quickly update their tracking links to minimize disruption to their campaigns.

The Value of Timely Notifications

The true benefit of Traffic Health notifications becomes clear when issues arise.

Consider these real-world scenarios:

Scenario 1: Never Let Your Domain Expire By Surprise

Stay ahead of domain expiration with automated reminders. Everflow will send you timely task notifications prompting you to check with your domain registrar and ensure your renewal settings are up to date.

While Everflow cannot directly verify payment details like credit card expiration dates in your domain registrar account, our proactive alerts help you stay on top of critical renewal deadlines so your campaigns never face unexpected downtime.

Scenario 2: Server Downtime
Without Traffic Health: A server hosting one of your tracking domains goes down on Friday evening. Nobody notices until Monday morning when Partners report massive traffic drops. You've lost an entire weekend of Conversions.

With Traffic Health: The moment your server experiences issues, you receive an immediate notification (if set up). Your team restores service within hours, minimizing disruption and preserving weekend revenue.

Scenario 3: Domain Blacklisting
Without Traffic Health: Google flags one of your domains for suspicious activity. For weeks, most users can't reach your Offer pages, but you can't identify why Conversions are declining.

With Premium Traffic Health: You receive an alert that Google Threat Intelligence has flagged your domain. You quickly identify the cause, resolve the issue, and submit for delisting, limiting the impact to just days instead of weeks.

The most costly domain issues are often the ones you don't know about. Traffic Health notifications ensure you're never the last to know when problems affect your business.

Bottom Line

Traffic Health's notification system forms the backbone of effective domain health monitoring since it transforms potential disasters into manageable incidents by ensuring you're immediately aware when issues arise. By properly configuring your notification preferences and choosing the right subscription plan, you establish a robust early warning system that protects your tracking infrastructure and revenue.

Take time to set up notifications that match your team's workflow and response procedures. Remember that different team members may need different alert types, and Premium / Core Advanced Alerts can help ensure the right alerts reach the right people through their preferred channels.

Regularly review your Traffic Health subscription to confirm it still meets your needs as your business grows. As your domain portfolio expands or your traffic increases, you may benefit from upgrading to more comprehensive monitoring solutions.
