Tracking & Conversion Domain Management

Complete guide to setting up, managing, and assigning tracking and conversion domains using Traffic Health. Learn how to configure default domains and create assignments.

Overview

This article will guide you through understanding, setting up, and managing both tracking and conversion domains using the Traffic Health interface.

Proper domain management ensures accurate click tracking, reliable conversion attribution, and optimal campaign performance across your affiliate network.

Understanding Domain Types in Everflow

Domains in Everflow can handle both tracking and conversion functions, but it's important to understand their primary purposes:

Tracking Domains

Used in Partner tracking links to track Clicks coming through to your Offers. When a Partner promotes your Offer, their tracking link uses your tracking domain to:

  • Record the Click event
  • Capture Partner and Offer information
  • Redirect users to the final destination
  • Enable proper Attribution

Conversion Domains

Used in Conversion postbacks and pixels by Advertisers to fire Conversions into Everflow. These domains ensure:

  • Reliable Conversion tracking
  • Proper Attribution back to the original Click
  • Accurate partner commission calculations
Note All domains can function as both tracking and conversion domains. You can use the same domain for both purposes or separate domains for organizational reasons.

Viewing Your Domains in Traffic Health

Navigate to Traffic Health → Configurations to access your domain management interface.

Domain Overview Section

At the top of the Configurations tab, you'll see:

Default Tracking Domain: The domain automatically assigned at the Offer level for generating tracking links

Default Conversion Domain: The domain used in your Conversion and event postbacks/pixels

Both default domains can be edited by clicking the Edit button next to each one.

Complete Domain List

The main Domains section shows all your domains with detailed information:

  • Name: The domain URL
  • ID(s): Internal tracking and conversion IDs
  • Assignable: Whether the domain can be assigned to Partners/Offers
  • Management Type: Fully Managed, Co-Managed, or Self-Managed
  • Hosting: Shared IP or Dedicated IP (MPS)
  • SSL Certificate(s): Certificate information and status
  • Expiration: Certificate expiration date
  • Custom Note: Any notes you've added

Managing Default Domains

Setting Default Tracking Domain

Your default tracking domain is automatically assigned to new Offers unless you specify otherwise.

To change the default tracking domain:

Go to Traffic Pulse → Configurations In the Default Tracking Domain section, click Edit Select your preferred domain from the dropdown Click Save Changes

The default tracking domain is used to generate tracking links and appears in your global postback URL.

Setting Default Conversion Domain

Your default conversion domain is used in conversion and event postbacks or pixels.

To change the default conversion domain:

Go to Traffic Pulse → Configurations In the Default Conversion Domain section, click Edit Select your preferred domain from the dropdown Click Save Changes
Heads Up! These changes only apply to new Offers automatically. To update the default Conversion domain for existing Offers, you'll need to go to Traffic Pulse -> Usage -> Assignments. From there you can select one or more domains and use Actions menu -> Edit Domain Assignments and follow the form. This helps you modify assignments in Bulk.

Domain Assignments

To modify domain assignment settings:

Click the three dots next to any domain in the list Select from the menu options: Edit Custom Note: Add notes for internal reference Make Default Domain For: Set as default for tracking or conversion Set To Assignable/Not Assignable As Tracking Domain Set To Assignable/Not Assignable As Conversion Domain

Assignment Priority Hierarchy

Everflow uses a priority system when determining which domain to use:

  1. Partner + Offer Combination (Highest Priority)
  2. Partner-Level Assignment
  3. Offer-Level Assignment
  4. Default Domain (Lowest Priority)

This hierarchy ensures the most specific assignment always takes precedence.
