Testing Conversion Tracking

Learn how to test whether your Conversions are correctly recorded within Everflow.

Overview

So, you have everything set up. What's next? It's time to test it out!

Testing is the final "confidence check" before you go live. You want to be 100% sure that when your Partners send traffic,Everflow catches every sale or lead.

This guide will walk you through running a test yourself, understanding what the results mean, and what to do if things don't look quite right.

Before We Start (Preparation)

To ensure your test goes smoothly and is easy to track, we recommend checking these two things first:

Testing Best Practices Checklist

The Testing Checklist

Ready? Follow these steps to generate your test conversion.

1 Grab the Right Link Head over to Offers > Manage and click on the Offer you want to test. Click the Tracking Links tab. Select a Partner for the test (you can create an "Internal Test Partner" if you want to keep things separate). Which link should I choose? Redirect Link: This is the most common choice (especially for Postback tracking) and is great for testing. Direct Link: Only choose this if your setup requires it (e.g., Facebook/Google Ads) AND you have confirmed the JS SDK Click Script is on the landing page. Copy that link to your clipboard. 2 Start the Session (The Click) Important You'll need to start by clicking the Everflow link, rather than just visiting your website directly. Open your Incognito/Private window. Paste the Everflow Tracking Link you just copied. Hit Enter. You should be redirected to your landing page. Quick Check: Does the page look right? If you are using Direct Linking, do you see the tracking parameters in the URL bar? If so, you're good to go! 3 Complete the Action Now, act like a customer. Go ahead and perform the conversion event (buy the product, sign up for the trial, etc.). Make sure you reach the final "Thank You" page (this is usually where the tracking signal fires). 4 Did It Work? Let's check the scoreboard. Go back to Everflow and navigate to Reporting > Conversions. Filter by the Offer you just tested. You should see your conversion listed there. Check the Status column to see the result.

Analyzing Your Results

What does the status mean?

Status Meaning Potential Reason Approved Success! Everything is working perfectly. You are ready to launch. Pending Recorded, but waiting. You might have a rule set up (like "Pending until 5 conversions") or a fraud check might be reviewing it. Rejected It worked, but was flagged. Check the Error Message column. It might be a simple setup mismatch, like testing a "US Only" offer while you are in Europe. Invalid Missing data. Usually, this means the JS SDK script is missing on the page, or the Transaction ID got lost along the way.

Troubleshooting: "I Don't See My Conversion"

If your report is empty, don't worry! It happens. We have tools to help you find out exactly where the data stopped.

1. Check the Logs (Advertiser Postback Report)

If you are using Server-to-Server (Postback) tracking, this is your best friend. This report logs everything the Advertiser sends us, even if it didn't make it to the main report.

Go to Reporting > Advertiser Postbacks. Paste that Transaction ID you saved earlier into the filter. Do you see it here? Yes: Click Response to see why Everflow didn't accept it. No: This means the Advertiser's server never sent the signal. You may need to double-check the setup on their end.

2. Trace the Journey (Flowchart)

If you want to see the full path visually:

Go to Reporting > Click > Flowchart. Find your Click. Click on it to see the path. Did the click register? Did a postback attempt fire? This visual view often highlights exactly where the chain broke.

"Can I ask my Advertiser to test?"

Absolutely. Sometimes you need the Advertiser to verify the pixel on their end, but you don't want to mess up your financial reports.

On the Offer page, click the Advertiser Test Link button (bottom right). Open Additional Parameters and check the box for Ignore Revenue and Payout. Send this link to them. This lets them test freely without affecting your stats or payouts!
Pro Tip! Watch for "Click To Conversion Time" When you are testing, keep an eye on how fast the conversion happens.

The Scenario: You clicked the link, and the conversion fired 2 seconds later.
The Insight: Real humans take time to read and buy. If you see conversions happening instantly (under 10-15 seconds) in live traffic, it's often a sign of bots.
The Fix: You can set a Minimum Click To Conversion Time rule in your Offer settings to automatically block these bot conversions in the future.
