You’ve most likely set up an Offer or two, and the final move is to start tracking. Everflow provides many ways to set up tracking that match your tech stack and your Partners’ expectations.

This article will cover a high level view of Tracking at Everflow. We’ll skim upon Tracking Links, Tracking Methods, Actions, Events and more. You’ll get an introduction to the core concepts and be on your way to powerful tracking in no time!

Note If you’d like a step-by-step guide on setting up tracking, please follow this series.

Choose A Tracking Domain

Having a tracking domain is a pre-requisite for tracking. Each customer on the Core Platform will have at least one tracking domain setup during account creation.

Each Offer can be set up to use any tracking domain available to you.

What Can You Track With Everflow?

There are 3 things you can track with Everflow:

  1. Impressions (Sold as an add-on package, not visible by default)
  2. Clicks
  3. Conversion Events

We call these Actions. Since Impressions is an optional package, we won’t be covering it in this article, you can read about it here.

When it comes to Clicks & Conversion Events, there’s a few fundamentals to understand.

Click Tracking & Tracking Links

Let's start with Clicks & Tracking Links. These two concepts are heavily intertwined.

Tracking Links are what you provide your Partners to drive traffic. This is what a potential visitor will click on. The link could be hidden behind an image or placed raw.

When a Tracking Link is clicked, that counts as a “Click” and will be tracked as one in Everflow.

There’s two types of Click Tracking - Redirect & Direct. You can also refer to the Tracking Link types as Redirect Links or Direct Links. You can use either to provide to your Partner, depending on what works for you and them. Let’s go more into detail with each.

Redirect Linking

Redirect Linking uses a server-to-server postback connection to record conversions and events. A unique transaction ID is generated each time a user clicks on a tracking link, ensuring accurate attribution.

This is the most commonly used tracking method and is recommended for most use cases.

Direct Linking

Direct Linking tracks clicks when users land directly on your site — no Everflow tracking link click required. It’s ideal for media buys on platforms like Facebook or Google Ads, or for branded content campaigns where redirects are restricted.

Since many major ad platforms prohibit post-click redirects, Direct Linking ensures a seamless user experience while still capturing the necessary tracking data.

Conversion Event Tracking

Conversion Events are generally what happen after Clicks (even though sometimes Conversions can take place without Clicks). An example would be someone clicking on an Ad, being redirected to an Advertiser’s webpage, and booking a demo by signing up. The demo signup is what the Everflow Customer is looking to track, and we call that a conversion.
