Introduction
Accurately tracking conversions is the lifeblood of any successful affiliate marketing campaign. Without it, you're flying blind, unable to determine what's working and what's not.
Everflow offers a robust suite of conversion tracking methods, each designed to provide precise and reliable data. This article will demystify these methods, explaining how they work and how to choose the right one for your needs.

A Reminder on Linking Type vs Tracking Methods
Tracking methods at Everflow generally focus on tracking Conversion Events, so they can also be called Conversion Tracking Methods. But the exception lies with the JavaScript SDK that also helps track Clicks & Impressions in addition to Conversion Events.
Out of the three we recommend using Server To Server Postback for the most amount of reliability, but the Javascript SDK is equally robust, while the HTML Pixel method is not recommended as you’ll find out below.
Prerequisite Understanding
Before there are Conversions, there are usually Clicks. If you’re not already familiar, we recommend reading this introduction to Click Tracking.
Eventually, you’d want your Clicks to lead to Conversions, known as Conversion Events at Everflow. The first step is to set up your Conversion Events, here’s a guide on that.
Once you have some Conversion Events created on an Offer, the next thing is to set up tracking those Conversion Events. The way we track Conversion Events is via Postbacks, specifically called Advertiser Postbacks.
What is an Advertiser Postback?
The simple idea behind the Advertiser Postback is that on the website, app or any platform where the conversion occurs, there needs to be a signal from that platform to Everflow saying that the conversion has occurred.
This “signal”, the Advertiser Postback, essentially contains information regarding the Offer, the Affiliate & the Advertiser so that Everflow can make sense of the conversion and attribute it to the correct Partner & Offer.

Why Is It Called The “Advertiser” Postback?
The reason why it’s called the Advertiser Postback is that Advertisers are generally the brands that own the platform where the Postback occurs. In this case, if Nike was the Advertiser, the conversion would occur on Nike’s website, and the tracking method needs to be properly set up on Nike’s website in order for them to “signal” that the conversion has occurred.
Simply put, the Postback is coming from the Advertiser.

If you’re a Network or Agency, who’s working with multiple Advertisers, each Advertiser might have a different tech stack, and Tracking Method will be dependent upon technical feasibility.
