How To Split Test Offers, Landing Pages, & Offer URLs

Learn how to rotate Offers, Landing Pages, and Offer URLs in Everflow. for split testing or A/B testing.

Overview

Split testing (also known as A/B testing) allows you to compare multiple Offers or landing pages to determine which performs best, helping you optimize traffic allocation for higher conversions and revenue.

This guide covers:

  • How to create multiple landing pages for an Offer.
  • How to set up a Smart Link to rotate traffic between Offers and landing pages.
  • How to analyze split test performance in Everflow Reporting.

Creating Multiple Landing Pages

To test different landing pages within the same Offer:

Navigate to Offers -> Manage and select an Offer. On the Offer URLs card, click Add. If you have multiple Offer URLs to upload, click Import and upload a CSV file.
Enter a Landing Page Name and the Destination URL. Repeat the process to add all URLs you want to rotate.

You now have multiple landing pages associated with your Offer!

Setting Up a Smart Link for Split Testing

A Smart Link allows you to distribute traffic between multiple Offers or landing pages using different redirect mechanisms.

Create a Smart Link

Navigate to Offers -> Smart Links and click Smart Link. Enter a name and select a tracking domain. Enable Force SSL to improve tracking accuracy and security.

Make Smart Link Visible to Partners

To allow Partners to access the Smart Link:

Enable Show to Partners so that approved Partners can find it under Smart Links -> Tracking Links tab in their Partner Platform.

Add Offers & Landing Pages to the Smart Link

Click the Settings tab and decide whether to enable the Catch-All Offer (this ensures traffic is redirected to an Offer if no match is found). Click the button to add Offers to the Smart Link. Add the Offers and their landing pages from Step 1.

Alternative: Instead of testing multiple landing pages, you can also split test multiple Offers within the Smart Link.

Choosing the Right Redirect Mechanism

When configuring your Smart Link, you can select from three redirect methods:

KPI-Based (Performance Optimization)
  • Traffic is prioritized based on how well each Offer meets performance KPIs.
Priority-Based (Waterfall Logic)
  • Traffic flows based on priority order.
  • If Offer 1 reaches its cap or does not match targeting, the click is sent to Offer 2, and so on.
Weight-Based (Percentage Distribution)
  • Traffic is distributed proportionally based on predefined weights.
  • Above Example:
Offer Name Assigned Weight % of Traffic EverTrust 3 33% GoldGuard 5 55% Orion Enigma 1 11%

Total weight = 9 → Each Offer receives traffic based on its proportion of the total.

Heads up! Please note partners must be approved for all Offers within a Smart Link for it to function correctly, unless the Smart Link logic is configured to handle blocked Offers within the redirect flow. Pro Tip You can apply additional targeting criteria to each Offer within the Smart Link for more refined traffic control.

Tracking the Performance of a Split Test

To measure split test results and optimize performance:

Navigate to Reporting > Smart Links. Analyze the performance of each landing page or Offer in the test. Adjust the Redirect Mechanism as needed (e.g., increase traffic to the highest-performing page). Use the Copy Link to Report button to share results with team members who have Everflow access.
