Default Order of Conversion Attribution Priority

The Everflow Platform determines Conversion Attribution Priority based on the advertiser's configuration and the available data for each conversion. The priority order by default is as follows:

  1. Transaction ID (&transaction_id=*)

  2. Third Party Cookie (With cross-site tracking - Tracking Domain is dropped within the browser)

  3. First Party Cookie (Dependent on EF.click/conversion SDK combo - cannot do cross-site tracking)

  4. Fingerprinting (Dependent on EF.click/conversion SDK combo)

  5. Clickless (Offer ID + Affiliate ID)

Attribution Priority Configuration

Everflow offers a way to customize your attribution strategy using the Attribution Priority setting on the Advertiser level. This setting determines whether click-based or coupon code-based attribution takes precedence.

Attribution Priority Options:

  • Click: The system attributes the conversion based on the first or last click, as determined by the Advertiser's click attribution settings. This is the default option.

  • Coupon Code: The system prioritizes attributing the conversion to the Advertiser associated with the used coupon code.

The Attribution Priority setting can be found in the Advertiser level, located below the Attribution Method in the advertiser configuration form, General tab. (Advertisers - Add / Manage - General tab > Attribution Priority)

How Attribution Works

  1. Click vs. Coupon Code Priority:

    • If Click is set as the Attribution Priority:

    • If Coupon Code is set as the Attribution Priority:

      • The system first checks for a valid coupon code and attributes to the associated affiliate.

      • If no coupon code is present or valid, it reverts to the click-based attribution process.

  2. Fallback: If neither click data nor coupon code leads to successful attribution, the system moves down the priority list.

Priority order of the Attribution when Coupon Code is selected:

  1. Transaction ID (&transaction_id=*)

  2. Third Party Cookie (With cross-site tracking - Tracking Domain is dropped within the browser)

  3. First Party Cookie (Dependent on EF.click/conversion SDK combo - cannot do cross-site tracking)

  4. Fingerprinting (Dependent on EF.click/conversion SDK combo)

  5. Clickless (Offer ID + Affiliate ID)

This flexible approach allows you to tailor your attribution strategy to their specific campaign needs, whether they prioritize click-based or Coupon Code-based conversions.

💡Note💡

Enabling Coupon Code Priority for Attribution:

  1. You must provide at least one of the following:

    • Offer ID (oid)

    • Advertiser ID (aid)

  2. Failure to provide at least one of these IDs may result in an error.

Using Duplicate Coupon Codes:

  • When using duplicate coupon codes, you must include the Offer ID to ensure proper attribution.
