Updated in feature release 2.8.0 (April 15, 2020): Added monetary value columns that are sortable.
The Variance Report can be found under the Analytics section of your dashboard.
You can set up the report by first selecting the Previous Period and Current Period, which are the date ranges used for comparing the data. By selecting the Parent, you are choosing the data point that will be used for comparison. Selecting Child is optional for further breakdown under the selected Parent data. Once all filters and periods have been selected, run your report.
You will see the 3 different sections in the report which are the Summary Card, Performance Graph, and Data.
The Summary Card provides an overview of important metrics with a quick comparison between the previous period and the current period.
The Performance Graph will give you the report data in a chart view for comparing the current period against the previous period.
The Data section uses different metrics to break down differences between the two time periods. The numbers in Blue represent the Previous Period. The numbers below that, in Orange, represent the Current Period. Next to those could be either a 1) Green (positive) or a 2) Red number (negative), which designates the difference between the two data points.
